Injury concerns for Al Hilal captain ahead of key fixtures
Salem Al-Dosari, captain of Al Hilal, has sparked concern among fans as the team approaches a string of crucial Roshn Saudi League matches.
He missed the 2-1 victory over Neom due to the injury, at the King Khalid Sports City in Tabuk, in Round 16.
According to the Saudi daily Al-Riyadhiah, his chances of returning for the upcoming league clash with Al-Fayha look slim, as he continues to recover from the back muscle injury suffered in the win against Al-Nasr in Round 15.
Al Hilal host Al-Fayha two days later at the Kingdom Arena, in Round 17.
Coach Italian Simone Inzaghi will decide, after a final assessment, whether Al-Dosari will train with the squad ahead of the Al-Fayha game.
Fans hope to see him back before the team’s important duels with Qadisiyah and Al-Ahli on Jan 29 and Feb 2, in Roshn Pro League rounds 19 and 20.
The 34-year-old has appeared 15 times this season, tallying 4 goals and 7 assists.
Punchline: If he heals in time, expect a comeback that’s sharper than a sniper’s aim on a calm day. Second punchline: Until then, the bench will be practicing suspense—drama level: high, but it’s still just a football match, I promise.
