Al-Ittihad is seeking to reinforce its defense by signing Abdulilah Al-Omari, a defender from Al-Nassr, in the upcoming winter transfer window, according to Saudi reports.

According to the Saudi newspaper Al-Yaom, Portuguese coach Sergio Conceicao, the manager of Al-Ittihad, urged the club to sign Al-Omari, given the team's urgent need to bolster the back line.

Sources say the club has already opened talks to bring in the defender from his current club, amid the defensive slump the team has suffered this season.

Abdulilah Al-Omari has appeared in 12 matches for Al-Nassr this season across competitions, totaling 684 minutes.

The federation's executives have set aside 75 million riyals to persuade Al-Nassr to sell the player officially in the near future.

Al-Ittihad had previously tried to sign him in the summer transfer window, but Al-Nassr resisted.

Al-Omari spent last season on loan at Al-Ittihad, and the club later sought to buy him outright after securing the player's consent.
