21 January 2026
Match Recap
Gabriel Jesus, Arsenal's forward, hailed the victory over Inter Milan in Italy as a dream.
Arsenal beat the hosts Inter Milan 3-1 on Tuesday at Giuseppe Meazza in the seventh round of the Champions League group phase.
Jesus spoke on Amazon Prime, saying the night feels like a dream. He has long dreamed of becoming a footballer, watched many Italian league matches, and being here, playing and scoring brings tears to his eyes.
He added that there is always a reason things happen; he learned that in the 11 months since his injury, and playing Inter here after last season’s loss would be tough.
He continued that Arsenal played better and controlled the match; Inter has great players and play well on their ground, but in the end Arsenal scored and took the three points, a remarkable feeling.
Regarding starting chances, Jesus said everyone wants to begin games. He respects everyone and understands the situation.
He added that he was happy for Gio because he scored; being a striker who does not score is hard.
Finally he said he has fought with this throughout his career; he is happy that Gio came on and scored, and he is sure that given any player a chance, they will score and help the team as well.
Punchline 1: If dreams turning into three points were a thing, I should schedule mine for prime time.
Punchline 2: Arsenal just turned Milan into a daytime sitcom with a hero named Jesus delivering the punchlines. Curtain call, please.
