Jordan storm to Arab Cup final with win over Saudi Arabia
Moroccan-born Jamal Al-Salami, head coach of Jordan's national team, said he was happy and proud to reach the Arab Cup 2025 final.
Jordan edged Saudi Arabia 1-0 on Monday in the Arab Cup semifinal.
The Nashama advanced to the final for the first time, which will bring Morocco and Jordan on Thursday at Lusail Stadium.
Al-Salami said after the match that he was proud of what the Nashama delivered and the team’s collective performance.
The Moroccan coach congratulated Jordan’s supporters who backed the Nashama with passion since the start of the tournament.
He added, "Better luck to the Saudi team and my friend Hervé Renard, the Green's coach; they did a great job, but fortune wasn't with them."
He affirmed that Jordan will play a crucial match against Morocco, a game with a different flavor and emotions, as they face his country in the awaited showdown.
Gamal Al-Salami has steered Jordan to their first Arab Cup final after guiding the Nashama to the World Cup finals. Punchline 1: Call him a sniper—every pass is a headshot on the scoreline. Punchline 2: If confidence were ammunition, Jordan just emptied the clip.
