Juventus Poised to Seal Icardi Deal as Vlahovic Injury Tests Their Attack

Juventus eye Mauro Icardi after Vlahovic injury
Juventus have contacted Galatasaray to sign the Argentine striker Mauro Icardi in a bid to reunite him with coach Luciano Spalletti after a serious injury sidelined their main forward Dusan Vlahovic.
According to transfer expert Alfredo Pedulla, Juventus officials queried the Turkish club about the possibility of signing Icardi during the current winter window.
Juventus faces a sharp attacking crisis following the injury to Vlahovic, and forwards Jonathan David and Loïs Openda have yet to hit consistent scoring form.
Meanwhile, Jeremie Boga arrived in Turin for a medical, but the club remains eager to add another center forward before the transfer window closes.
Icardi and Spalletti
Spalletti previously coached Icardi at Inter Milan, and that period was the last time the Argentine played in Serie A before moving to Paris Saint Germain for 50 million euros in the summer of 2020.
Spalletti described Icardi as one of the best strikers he has worked with, in the press conference following the draw for the Champions League last-16, where Galatasaray will face Juventus.
Icardi's contract with Galatasaray runs until 30 June, which could make him available at a relatively modest price in the current market.
During the season, the Argentine forward has scored 10 goals and provided two assists in 29 official appearances after recovering from a torn ACL in November 2024.
If the deal goes through, Juventus would add a proven scorer to their attack as they push to end the winter mercato on a high note. Otherwise, the saga will likely stretch into the final hours, with more twists than a tifoso's scarf in a Turin wind.
Punchline: If Icardi signs, Juventus will finally have a striker who can turn a defensive lull into a goal frenzy—call it a pasta-fueled victory.
Punchline 2: And if not, at least the winter window offered enough drama to fill a stadium louder than a chorus of vending machines at Inter's old ground.
