Loan status and club statements
ZED's football department confirmed they did not receive any request from Al Ahly to terminate Ahmed Khaled Kabka's loan, confirming the player will remain with the club.
Coach's assessment and future plans
A ZED official told KOOORA that Kabka is a standout and his loan extends until the end of the season.
He added: Kabka trained with the youth national team from the start of the season through the U-20 World Cup in Chile, and upon return the coach had already established the core squad.
He also said the player will start featuring in forthcoming matches depending on the coach's plan.
Background on the deal
Kabka was loaned to ZED for one season from Al Ahly, as part of the deal that saw Mustafa Al-Ash move permanently to the Reds before this season.
Kabka has been among the standout players of his generation and captained the youth national team at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile, which Egypt's team exited in the group stage.
Punchline 1: If Kabka’s talent were a loan, the interest would be paid in goals.
Punchline 2: And if this transfer saga had a goalkeeper, it would be me—always trying to block the punchlines before they go in.
