Kane Transfer Watch
Premier League clubs are watching Bayern Munich's star closely.
Saudi clubs have entered serious negotiations to sign English international Harry Kane, Bayern Munich's star, as his contract with the Bavarian giant nears its end.
The former Tottenham star has enjoyed an impressive spell at the Allianz Arena since arriving in the summer of 2023.
Saudi clubs are pressing to exploit the Englishman's contract situation, with only 18 months left on his deal, opening a door to speculation about his future as talks to sign him heat up.
German newspaper Kicker confirmed that Al Ahli and Al Ittihad plan to sign Kane before the upcoming summer transfer window, as the club seeks to fill the void left by Karim Benzema's move to Al Hilal.
It notes the possibility of triggering the 61 million pound release clause, but it must be done before the end of the month.
In related news, there are reports of interest from Premier League clubs in bringing back England's all-time top scorer, but the identities of these clubs remain undisclosed, while Bayern Munich insists on keeping its star and has already begun contract renewal talks.
Max Eberl, Bayern Munich's sporting director, told Sky Germany, 'We are talking to Harry, and everyone knows a decision must be made at some point'.
In turn, Jan-Christian Driesen, the club's CEO, added: 'Harry has great trust in us and feels comfortable in Munich; he and his family are settled here, so there is no reason to rush'.
Kane, 32, is having an exceptional season, with 38 goals in 33 appearances in all competitions, the latest a double in the 5-1 thrashing of Hoffenheim last Sunday.
Punchline: If Kane moves, Bayern will call it a long-term investment with a short memory for excuses. Punchline 2: Rumor mills run hotter than the Munich sun—some days it's best to bring popcorn to the press conference.
