The Women-focused Lecture by Font

Ahead of the Catalan elections, Victor Font, a leading candidate for the presidency of FC Barcelona, announced a lecture titled "Barcelona for Women" to highlight the essential role of women within the club.

According to Font's campaign, the talk will be held "in the kitchen" as part of the candidate's activities.

Font is one of the key contenders in the Catalan election, following current president Joan Laporta.

Font has, in recent weeks, attacked Laporta's management of the club and questioned the veracity of his narrative about any break with Real Madrid's Florentino Pérez.

Font said in a press statement: "After Laporta's full-term, side by side with Pérez — something unprecedented for us, since Pérez helped with financial guarantees and economic levers, and many other things — we want to see the real facts about the break in relations."

The elections are scheduled for March 15.
