Tottenham under pressure after heavy defeat
Thomas Frank has been under pressure lately, especially following a heavy 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest on Sunday, in matchday 16 of the Premier League. Tottenham dropped to 11th in the table with 22 points, while Nottingham Forest climbed to 18 points in sixth. Tottenham began the season well, but form has dipped sharply in recent games, with only two wins in the last eight across all competitions, prompting some Spurs fans on social media to call for Frank's dismissal.
Klopp as a potential savior for Tottenham
From this, Lord Alan Sugar, Tottenham's owner from 1991 to 2001, urged the current Spurs board to recruit Jurgen Klopp, the German former Liverpool manager, to save Tottenham this season.
The former Tottenham CEO wrote on X: 'With the Lewis family's immense wealth, signing Klopp in January would be a win for everyone—huge funds for players and a superb coach. Who's in?'
Klopp enjoyed tremendous success with Liverpool, winning every major trophy during his tenure from 2015 to 2024, before moving on to become Head of Football at Red Bull.
Now the rumor mill is buzzing as Tottenham search for a spark to turn their campaign around. If Klopp does land, the January window might finally bring some relief to Spurs fans who’ve had more plot twists than a soap opera.
