Kovac on the Radar: Could Dortmund’s Boss Be United’s Next Permanent Manager?

Carrick has taken charge of the Red Devils temporarily
Croatian coach Niko Kovac, head of Borussia Dortmund, has emerged as one of the leading candidates to take Manchester United's reins from next season, with formal negotiations possible in late spring before Carrick's interim period ends.
According to English and German reports, United's interest in the Croatian coach is now deemed confirmed, though he isn't the sole option to permanently replace Rubén Amorim.
Kovac favors high-pressing and rapid transitions, using multiple systems, with his current favorite 3-4-2-1 that he has trained with Dortmund since late March.
While this system previously faltered under Amorim at United, having players such as Matheus Conia and Bryan Mbwimo could help adapt it more effectively.
Observers say implementing this approach at Old Trafford would require clear reinforcements, notably two high-quality full-backs and a defensive midfielder who can eventually shadow Casemiro, while Bruno Fernandes's role under the system remains in question.
Alternatively, Kovac could opt for a 3-5-2, the system he used at Frankfurt, which gives the midfield more balance and could clarify Fernandes's role, but it presses the wings, possibly forcing Mbwimo to play as a secondary striker, while Amad Diallo could be used as an attacking winger.
