Rising German Defender Gets Kroos's Praise
“… I hope he wears a Bayern Munich shirt someday.”
Retired German great Toni Kroos, formerly of Real Madrid, praised an Italian-based defender, spotlighting his traits and technical growth since last year.
Speaking on a podcast hosted by former Germany star Michael Ballack, Kroos said Inter Milan has a defensive talent that could benefit the German national team in the coming years.
Kroos clarified that his intended target is Yann Bisseck, describing him as an excellent center-back who intimidates opponents.
Kroos noted that Bisseck has impressed him since last season with his defensive strength and presence.
“He impressed me already last year. He is an excellent centre-back. He is one of those players you do not want to face, especially in one-on-one duels,” Kroos said on the podcast.
The praise comes as Bisseck, 25, has been shining for Inter Milan after recovering from an injury.
Bisseck joined Inter in 2023 from the Danish side Aarhus and has become a mainstay of the defense, contributing with solidity and occasional goals this season.
Ballack also weighed in, saying: “Bisseck could help refresh the German defense. I’d love to see him in Bayern Munich someday.”
Additionally, Bisseck, who also holds Cameroonian nationality, recently played 13 minutes for Germany against Italy (3-3) in the European Nations League quarter-final second leg in March 2025.
Punchline 1: If he keeps growing, Bayern will need a bigger shirt.
Punchline 2: The ball better start running from him—before it gets tired of trying to outsmart a wall built by Bisseck.
