Late drama seals Arsenal's 2-1 win over Wolves
Ian Wright, Arsenal legend, praised two Gunners after they helped rescue the London club at the death against Wolverhampton.
Arsenal looked set to drop crucial points in the title race when Tolulo Arokodari struck a stoppage-time equaliser, replying to a Wolves lead that had come via an own goal by keeper Sam Johnstone.
Time was on Arsenal's side though as Yerson Muskira diverted a Bukayo Saka cross into his own net under pressure from Gabriel Jesus, sealing a 2-1 victory on Saturday night.
Saka's persistence and Jesus' continued sharp form proved decisive, Wright noted, giving relief at the game-changing contribution from the pair.
Wright spoke to fans on social media, saying that the win was hard-earned and that lifting the league remains a tall order but achievable with this level of grit.
He added that Arsenal were not at their best, yet they still took the three points at home, a reminder that results matter more than style on matchdays.
The former striker also praised Saka and Jesus, insisting the pair had once again delivered when it mattered most, and urged the team to keep building on this momentum as the season progresses.
The Gunners have finished second on three occasions in the past and are now pushing to finally break through that barrier. Support the players and stay with the ride.
Punchline 1: If drama were a sport, Arsenal just won the league by scoring at stoppage time—watch the clocks, they’re now the targets. Punchline 2: Saka’s cross was so precise even my GPS would’s miss it—Jesus finished, and the title chase continues with a wink.
