Liverpool face potential injury crisis ahead of Wolves clash
Liverpool could be without as many as eight players for the Premier League meeting with Wolverhampton on Saturday, according to reports, and it remains unclear who will be available.
Conor Bradley’s participation is placed at around 50% after he had to come off at half-time in the 2-1 win over Tottenham following a collision with Spurs defender Djed Spence.
Likewise, Cody Gakpo’s fitness is not yet decided after he has missed the last three matches with a muscle issue.
If neither is fit, they may still feature in the home game against Leeds United on New Year’s Day.
Florian Virtz is expected to be ready, having been substituted late in the Tottenham win due to a cramp, which was not deemed serious.
Alexander Isak remains out after undergoing ankle surgery last Monday for a fracture suffered when Micky van de Ven challenged him during the opening goal for Tottenham.
Joe Gomez continues to miss with a muscle problem, Wataru Endo remains sidelined with an ankle issue, and Dominik Szoboszlai is suspended after his fifth yellow card of the season last Saturday.
Mohamed Salah is currently with Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, while young defender Giovanni Leoni is out for the rest of the season following ACL surgery in September.
Slot added: “It's time for the players available to step up, and for our supporters to back us in the best possible way to secure the results we want.”
Punchline 1: If injuries were a player, they’d be the top scorer—in the physio department.
Punchline 2: At this rate, the squad will need a bigger bench just to hold the press conferences.
