Lodi Leaves Al Hilal for Atlético Mineiro on a Five-Year Deal
23 December 2025
Brazilian left-back Renan Lodi has finalized his exit from Al Hilal and reached an agreement with his new club for a move ahead.
Last September, Lodi announced he terminated his contract with Al Hilal unilaterally after being dropped from the squad.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano tweeted that Lodi has completed an agreement with Brazilian club Atlético Mineiro to join the squad in the coming period, signing a five-year contract, for a long-term stay there.
Some reports had suggested Roma wanted to sign Lodi for free in the near term, but the Italian journalist rejected those claims outright; there were no negotiations.
Romano stressed that no talks had started with the Italian club to sign the Brazilian full-back, noting he was only presented to Roma without real pursuit at any level.
And the 27-year-old featured for Al Hilal since January 2024, after the club signed him from Marseille, appearing in 56 matches, scoring four goals and delivering 11 assists before terminating his contract last summer.
