Arrival in Jeddah: Real Madrid ahead of the Spanish Super Cup
Real Madrid players touched down in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, ahead of the Spanish Super Cup, which will be streamed exclusively through the Eight app, the Roshn Saudi League’s official partner.
The semi-final pits Real Madrid against city rivals Atletico Madrid on Thursday evening at the Al-Enmaa Stadium in Jeddah.
Mbappe sidelined and a derby to remember
If Madrid win the derby, they will face the winner of Barcelona vs Athletic Bilbao in the final on Sunday.
Upon arrival, Madrid were welcomed with flowers at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah.
Madrid travel without their star and top scorer, Kylian Mbappe, who is ruled out of the Super Cup with a left ankle sprain. Mbappe wrote on Instagram: "Good luck to the team. I am 1000% confident we will win. Hala Madrid! To the Super Cup."
The Eight app promotions promise exclusive, free access to the broadcast.
Punchline: If the derby ends with drama, the silverware will need a GPS to find its way home—because apparently even trophies get lost in a crowd in Saudi Arabia.
Punchline: And if you’re watching on Eight, congratulations—you’ve upgraded your couch to a VIP box in a stadium of excitement.
