City lands blockbuster defender deal as Guehi joins from Palace

Manchester City have officially signed English international defender Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace for 20 million euros, with a contract through 2031.

The Sky Blues beat Real Madrid, Liverpool and Bayern Munich among others for the 25-year-old centre-back.

In his first comments after the deal, Guehi said he was happy and proud to wear City's colors and sees this move as the culmination of his hard work.

"I am now at the best club in England and among an incredible group of players," he said, noting City's recent dominance and the path the club has taken.

"The growth the club seeks is remarkable; I simply want to join, contribute, and see how far the club can continue to grow."

Humor corner: City’s defense may need a new map—opponents might not find a way through, even with a compass. And if Guehi keeps this up, the trophies might start paying rent at the Etihad.
