Milan's Teen Left-Back Nets First Serie A Goal, Echoing Maldini's Milestone

Bartesaghi's milestone goal for Milan
Davide Bartesaghi, Milan's left-back, scored for his side during the ongoing clash with Sassuolo at San Siro in the 15th round of Serie A.
In the 34th minute, a ball played by Luka Modrić to Loftus-Cheek on the right side of Sassuolo's penalty area was crossed back to the far left, where Bartesaghi slotted it home past the defense.
The strike marked his first Serie A goal for Milan.
Opta notes that at 19 years and 350 days, Bartesaghi is the youngest Milan defender to score in Serie A since Paolo Maldini did so on 28 February 1988, when Maldini was 19 years and 247 days old.
Note: the play highlights Milan's evolving set of young talents, and a dash of Maldini-era nostalgia tints the moment with a hint of history (and a reminder that legends sometimes spawn new legends).
Punchline 1: If Milan keeps this up, their trophy cabinet will need a frequent-flyer program just to accommodate all the new entries.
Punchline 2: Bartesaghi just turned 19 years and 350 days old—basically, the exact age you are when you realize your homework isn’t going to score goals for you either.
