Mohammed Kanno's Brace Lifts Saudi Arabia Past Comoros in Arab Cup Showdown

Mohammed Kanno, a midfielder for Saudi Arabia, scored twice to lift the Green Falcons to a 3-0 win against Comoros on Friday, at the Al Bayt Stadium, in the second group game of the Arab Cup.

The opener came in the late moments of the first half, after a brilliant pass from Salem Al-Dosari, which Kanno headed past the goalkeeper.

Kanno added a second in the 51st minute following a sequence of passes with Al-Dosari, extending Saudi Arabia's advantage before Al-Dosari himself struck the third in the 76th minute.

The second goal came in similar fashion to the first, as another swift exchange between Kanno and Al-Dosari created the chance.

Al-Dosari's influence extended beyond assists; he raised his Arab Cup tally to four assists, and with the goal he tallied five direct contributions in the tournament.

The captain of Al Hilal, Al-Dosari, also pushed his international totals to 14 assists in 102 appearances for the Green Falcons.

SofaScore rated Kanno 7.7 out of 10 for the first half, while Al-Dosari was close behind at 7.3.

Saudi Arabia are in Group B with Morocco, Comoros and Oman.

A victory today would have made the Saudis the first to reach the knockout quarter-finals, especially after Morocco's goalless draw with Oman.

If football were a sniper rifle, Kanno just hit the bullseye three times, and I'm still missing the target on my couch.

The only thing sharper than his shots is the referee's whistle—guess even fate signs off with a yellow card sometimes.
