Rayo Vallecano have secured the services of Moroccan winger Ilias Akhomach from Villarreal on loan during the current winter window.
Earlier reports indicated the 21-year-old Moroccan star sought a new challenge to ensure a place in his country’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.
Akhomach has represented Morocco at the Africa Cup of Nations, helping the Atlas Lions finish as runners-up.
He has not been a regular starter at Villarreal, recording just 361 minutes over 15 appearances in all competitions.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano stated on X that Akhomach joined Rayo Vallecano on loan until the end of the season.
