Return of Sami Al-Najai and Ayman Yahya Ahead of Ettifaq Clash
Al-Nassr regained two players, Sami Al-Najai (midfield) and Ayman Yahya (left-back), who took part in training as the team gears up for the big clash against Ettifaq in the 12th round of the Roshen Pro League, a fixture that could shape the title race.
The Saudi outlet Al-Youm reported their return after recovering from separate injuries, and their status for the game remains under evaluation.
Abdulmalik Al-Jaber also featured in training today after missing time with a knee cartilage injury, giving coach Jorge Jesus additional options at the back.
Nassr’s Form, Coach, and What’s Next
The squad under Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus has not yet decided whether the returning duo will feature in the upcoming game, as the staff weighs fitness and match-readiness.
Nassr recently defeated Al-Akhdaa 3-0 to extend their perfect run and stay top of the Roshen Pro League with 30 points from 10 matches, keeping their title bid firmly on track.
Al-Najai has been out since suffering an ACL tear last season and has been undergoing rehabilitation since surgery, while Yahya picked up a knee injury while playing for Saudi Arabia at the Arab Cup; both are eager to contribute again soon.
And if they clinch it, the trophy might finally learn to pronounce “Nassr” properly—no subtitles needed. If the league keeps going this well, the players might need a bigger door to walk through the top of the table.
