Omar Marmoush Breaks Drought: First EPL Goal Lights City’s Way
Egyptian striker Omar Marmoush netted his first Premier League goal of the season while featuring for Manchester City against Wolverhampton.
The match at the Etihad Stadium saw Marmoush in City's starting lineup, taking the place of Norwegian star Erling Haaland.
Just six minutes in, Marmoush connected with a cross from Matheus Nunes on the right, looping a first-time finish into the net to give City the lead.
This tally marks Marmoush's first EPL goal since May 2025.
Fittingly, his previous league goal came against Bournemouth in the final weeks of last season, a strike later named Goal of the Season.
The goal came from a long-range shot that helped City to a 3-1 victory.
Punchline: If it’s precision you want, my jokes are sharper than Marmoush’s shot—just with fewer defenders chasing them.
Punchline: In football and humor alike, I aim for the top corner, and sometimes the stand gets a free seat too.
