Crystal Palace have reached an agreement with Tottenham to sign winger Brennan Johnson during the January transfer window, to bolster their squad for the second half of the season.
The Athletic reported that the deal now hinges on the Welshman's approval, the 24-year-old, after the clubs' agreement.
He added that the deal is worth around £35m, but other clubs are keen to complete it.
And it was noted that the Tottenham winger has not yet decided, with more offers on the table.
British media had indicated that Bournemouth are also eyeing a January move for Johnson to replace the departure of Ghanaian Antoine Semenyo to Manchester City.
Semenyo's deal with Manchester City now looks close, with the window open for official completion.
Semenyo had attracted interest from Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United before opting to move to City, according to several reports.
Bournemouth are trying to fill the gap left by Semenyo with a new winger, having initially targeted a Tottenham star, before Crystal Palace stepped in to try to snatch the Welshman. Fans are watching closely.
Punchline 1: Call it a long-range goal—straight from the transfer range.
Punchline 2: If this misses, the calendar will still look busy.
