Departure signals new links in the air
The Austrian coach Oliver Glasner announced on Friday that he will leave Crystal Palace at the end of the season.
Glasner, who led the London club last season to its first major trophy by winning the FA Cup.
Achievements, links, and a changing landscape
Glasner's name has been linked with Manchester United or Tottenham from next season.
On the eve of a Premier League clash with Sunderland, Glasner said: 'The decision has been taken months ago. I met club chairman Steve Parish in October during the international break; we spoke at length and I told him I would not sign a new contract.'
Glasner arrived at Palace in February 2024 and helped lift the side from the relegation zone.
Last season the club finished twelfth but produced the club's greatest moment by beating Manchester City 1-0 in the FA Cup final.
Palace earned European qualification for the first time in its history.
This season Palace has been through a rough spell, failing to win any of their nine most recent games and exiting the FA Cup to a sixth-tier opponent.
