Pedri's Bold Bet: Tenerife Convent Becomes a Forward-Looking Investment

Convent investment signals a new chapter for a Barça star
How does Barça's 'engineer' plot his future away from the roar of the crowd? While fans focus on his recovery from a hamstring injury that sidelined him recently, Barcelona's golden boy Pedri is not merely rehabbing; he is plotting intelligently what comes after his prime, even though he's not yet twenty three.
While peers spend fortunes on pricey cars and nightlife, the Barca midfielder's talent is re-rooted in his Canary Islands homeland, specifically his hometown of Tegueste in Tenerife, as he seals a real estate deal described by Spanish media as exciting and unconventional in football.
According to Catalan outlet Sport, Pedri didn't buy a modern palace or beachfront villa but invested 2.5 million euros to acquire an old convent for nuns.
This religious complex, built in 1943, was home to the nuns of Exaltation Church for over seven decades before being repurposed by the young star into a promising investment.
The project, run by the young star's company Bidrenita, spans about 9,500 square meters and includes 33 rooms, 21 bathrooms, plus a library, meeting hall, and a private church.
But Pedri's plan goes beyond preservation; it envisions converting the religious site into a luxury rural hotel, benefiting from its magical position near the Anaga natural park, with modern touches such as a private pool and architectural updates matching the unique Canary volcanic style.
With this move, Pedri shows he won't just control the tempo at Camp Nou; he's already building his own real estate fleet, ensuring life after the whistle ends up as refined as his decisive passes.
Punchline 1: If life after football needs a safety net, Pedri is building one with cloisters and a pool instead of clauses and corners.
Punchline 2: When your portfolio includes a monastery, you're basically playing chess while the rest of the league plays checkers.
