Injury prompts transfer move
The management of Pyramids FC moved to secure a new left-back after Mohamed Hamdi suffered an ACL tear during a training session.
And Egypt national team manager Ibrahim Hassan stated in an official release that Mohamed Hamdi will depart Morocco this Sunday evening, heading to Germany to undergo surgery after an ACL tear sustained during Benin's clash in AFCON 16 tournament.
He will undergo surgery next Thursday following coordination between Egypt's medical team and Pyramids FC.
Koora reported that Pyramids FC moved to clinch a new left-back and shortlisted Tawfiq Mohammed from Petrojet as the top candidate.
Officials at Pyramids FC also contacted Petrojet about securing Tawfiq Mohammed during the winter window to compensate for Hamdi's injury.
And Pyramids' management listed alternatives should talks with Petrojet stall, such as Yahya Zakaria and Mohamed Hamdi from Enppi if needed.
Pyramids had already signed Palestinian player Hamid Hamdan from Petrojet in the ongoing winter transfer window period.
Humor Break
Two light punchlines: 1) The left-back will cross more than the ball—he might even cross borders. 2) If Hamdi recovers quickly, ACLs may start charging for autographs.
