Quorum Drought at Zamalek's AGM as a Star Returns to Training
21 October 2025
Overview of the AGM and on-field news
Zamalek SC faced a tense Tuesday as administrative and technical sides watched for the quorum needed to approve amendments to the club's charter. The General Assembly meeting ended without the required legal attendance to formalize changes.
Back on the pitch: Dabbagh returns and Cup prep
Meanwhile, the football team welcomed back a key star as it gears up for the Confederation Cup Round of 32 second leg against Dikadaha of Somalia. The first leg had ended in a 6-0 victory at Cairo International Stadium last Saturday.
What happened at the voting hall
Official figures showed only 898 members attended and voted, far short of the 4,000 needed. The club board, led by Captain Hussein Labib, toured polling stations to ensure orderly proceedings and to listen to members’ feedback in a calm, disciplined environment. The agenda included amendments to the club’s charter and the attendance condition, with in-person voting and signatures required on the meeting sheets.
Team updates and injuries
On the field, Adi Al-Dabbagh returned to full training after recovering from a muscle issue. Abdullah Al-Saeed and Nabil Emad Donja also took part in full training, while Adam Kaid and Nasser Mansi continued rehabilitation. Zamalek has a proud Confederation Cup pedigree, having claimed the title twice with recent memories tied to Moroccan side Renaissance de Berkane; the Whites notably defeated Berkane to lift the continental prize in 2019, and Berkane won the subsequent CAF Super Cup, recently losing to Egyptian champions Pyramids.
