4 February 2026
Season schedule overview
Revealing the key features of the upcoming Saudi football season, reports outline the fixture list for 2026-2027, including the Roshen Pro League, the King’s Cup, and the local Super Cup.
According to Saudi press, the new season will begin on August 16, 2026, with the King’s Cup starting from the Round of 32.
The competition will witness an issue that also affected the current season: two semi-final legs are slated for March 6, 2027, which falls on Ramadan 27 of the following year.
The semi-finals involve Al Ahli vs Al Hilal and Al Ittihad vs Al Khaleej, dates in the last ten days of Ramadan sparking debate.
Meanwhile, the Saudi Super Cup will see semi-finals on November 30 and December 1, with the final set for December 4, marking a shift from the pattern of opening the season in August in recent years.
As for the league, May 2027 will be especially tight, with seven rounds to finish the season amid longer pauses throughout the year.
The Roshen Pro League will pause four times next season, including a 45-day break for the AFC Asian Cup hosted by the Kingdom in January and February.
Additionally, the competition will pause in September and October this year due to the Gulf Cup.
Punchline 1: If calendars were snipers, this season would nail Ramadan timing with pinpoint precision.
Punchline 2: And if patience were a sport, Saudi fans just earned a gold medal for endurance while the clock keeps ticking.
