Madrid targets a Bellingham-style teenage prodigy
Real Madrid continues its push to strengthen the club’s youth academy for the upcoming season, considering the signing of several promising youngsters to Valdebebas so they can later bolster the first team.
Madrid is tracking a number of young players in Spain and abroad, but one stands out from the rest.
Marca reports that Real Madrid wants to sign Owen Mira, a 16-year-old winger who plays for Granada's reserve team and is in his first year among the youth ranks, born in 2009.
Owen, a winger with a strong physique, stands 1.92 meters tall and resembles Jude Bellingham quite closely in build and even facial features, which is why the comparison to a Real Madrid player is being made.
In fact, this player, already listed in Granada's reserve squad despite not turning sixteen, has attracted interest from several clubs, with Real Madrid leading the chase.
While Real Madrid waits on the Owen Mira negotiations, the club has already secured the signing of center-back Aimar Garcia for next season, again turning to Atlético Madrid's academy to bring in the 18-year-old, who stands 1.92 meters.
Punchline 1: If Owen Mira grows into this hype, Madrid might need a bigger dressing room.
