Redknapp Sounds the Alarm: Liverpool Teeters on the Edge as the Winter Window Looms

Injury blows deepen the Reds' dilemma
Jamie Redknapp, the former Liverpool captain, issues an urgent call to the Reds' board to back manager Arne Slot with new signings before the winter transfer window closes next week.
Liverpool have fielded a constrained squad for much of the season despite spending £450m on players in the summer.
Concerns over defensive options have grown since September, especially after failing to sign English international Marc Guehi, who joined Manchester City earlier this month.
Defensive depth under the microscope
Redknapp said to Sky Sports: "Conor Bradley's injury is very serious and we won't see him again this season, and Giovanni Leoni also looked promising, and I hope Ibrahim Konate returns soon."
He added: "The squad has reached a state of frailty; Slot needs help in that department, and if one or two more injuries strike, they'll face real trouble."
On transfers, Redknapp noted: "I don't know the exact details, but Guehi was a big loss; everyone in football thought he'd go to Liverpool, but City offered a huge sum; it's a good move for him and I understand it, but I felt Liverpool would have joined that deal but they didn't."
Redknapp believes Liverpool must be shrewd in this window: "It's tough to buy a player now, because Leoni is expected to be a star next season, so you're in a tricky spot, but you must ensure depth for the rest of the season."
