Rogers' Bold Claim After Villa's Win
British star Morgan Rogers of Aston Villa believes no club is bigger than Manchester United after they edged out his side 2-1 on Sunday in the 17th round of the Premier League at Villa Park.
Rogers scored for Villa, while Matheus Cunha scored United's lone goal in the match at Villa Park.
Rogers told BBC: "We earned a precious win in a big game, and there is no club bigger than Manchester United; they’re always a tough opponent, and we hadn’t been playing well against them recently, so we wanted to set things straight."
Playing in front of the home crowd feels very different from playing without them; they’re the heartbeat of football.
Playing on our own ground is enjoyable; the fans always back us, and that shows in our performance, which makes playing here wonderful.
On his goal against United, he added: "Scoring in the top corner takes a lot of work and long hours of training; you just have to try. Sometimes it’s your day, sometimes not; against United it was my day, and I’m happy about it."
With yesterday’s victory, Villa moved to 36 points, sitting third, three behind leaders Arsenal, and they have recorded 10 straight wins in all competitions for the first time in more than a century.
Punchline 1: Manchester United are so big, even their shadows wear the club crest.
Punchline 2: If Villa's goals were a playlist, this would be the remix—replay it until the season ends.
