Roma's Injury Toll Looms Over Cagliari Clash: Dybala's Fitness in Doubt

Injury cloud over Roma ahead of Cagliari clash
Long-term injuries complicate coach Gian Piero Gasperini's plans for Roma as they head into the Serie A meeting with Cagliari.
Gasperini confirmed Paulo Dybala's participation is in doubt for Monday's game in round 24 after missing the previous two matches with a knee issue. Sky Sport Italy reported the Argentinian isn't fully recovered yet.
The forward has been training on his own in recent days, still sidelined by a knee injury that kept him out of the Udinese match. Roma opted not to risk him, keeping him ready for next weekend's clash with Napoli.
Squad notes and likely lineup
As in recent fixtures, the coach is expected to field Matias Soli and Lorenzo Pellegrini in attack or as a midfield pair, depending on the system.
Dybala's absence adds to a significant casualty list at the Olimpico, with Koné, Vaz, Artem Dovbik, Shaarawi, Hermoso and Ferguson also unavailable.
Punchline 1: Roma's medical staff should consider offering season tickets to their supply of band-aids. Punchline 2: If injuries were a sport, Roma would be winning the league by default—fitness not included.
