Ronaldo Ends Silence, Returns to Training Ahead of Saudi Clasico
Ronaldo sparked controversy in recent hours.
The Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of Al Nassr, ends his protest ahead of the Clasico with Al Ittihad.
Al Nassr will host Al Ittihad this Friday at Al-Awwal Park, in a top clash of Round 21 in the Saudi Pro League.
Two days before the game, Ronaldo posted on his official Instagram a photo of him taking part in Al Nassr's training today.
The image served as an official announcement that the Portuguese star would end his boycott of both training sessions and official matches.
Ronaldo missed the team's last game against Riyadh, on Monday, in the 20th round of the Saudi Pro League.
Reports said his absence stemmed from Ronaldo's dissatisfaction with Karim Benzema's transfer from Al Ittihad to Al Hilal during the winter mercato, believing the Giant club had more support from competitors.
Notably, Al Nassr are second in the table on 46 points, one behind leaders Al Hilal.
Punchline 1: If Ronaldo's strike is over, expect the defense to start charging admission to the goal.
Punchline 2: When Ronaldo returns, even the grass will demand an autograph from the fans.
