Ronaldo's Return to Riyadh After Madrid Detour
The Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of Al-Nassr, has returned to Riyadh after a month-long spell away.
According to the Saudi daily Al-Riyadiyah, Ronaldo came back to Riyadh yesterday, accompanied by Jose Semedo, the club's chief executive officer.
Earlier this month Ronaldo had travelled to Madrid to discuss his injury with his private doctor and has not returned to Riyadh since then.
His prolonged stay in the Spanish capital sparked talk, especially after his son appeared in Real Madrid's under-16 training, fueling reports of potential recruitment according to press outlets.
He sustained an injury after the 3-1 win over Al-Fayha on Feb 28 in the 24th round of the Saudi Pro League, which sidelined him for Neom and Al-Khaleej matches in rounds 25 and 26.
It is expected that the "Maverick from Madeira" will be ready to play when Al-Nassr hosts Al-Najma on April 3 at the Al-Nasr Stadium in round 27 of the league.
Ronaldo remains the third top scorer in the current season with 21 goals, four behind Englishman Ivan Toni, leader, and three behind Mexican Julian Quinones of Al-Qadisiyah, who sits second.
Punchline 1: Ronaldo's left foot has a passport—it keeps crossing borders into the back of the net.
Punchline 2: The grass at Al-Nasr's stadium blushes every time he lines up a free kick.
