King Mohammed VI sent a congratulatory letter to the reserve squad that won the Arab Cup, today Thursday, after their thrilling 3-2 victory over Jordan in extra time in the final.
In the letter, the king said: We are pleased to send you our warmest congratulations and appreciation after your magnificent Arab Cup victory (Qatar 2025), adding a second title to your nation’s proud record in this tournament, and a renewed brilliance that elevates Moroccan football on both the Arab and international stages.
As much as we hail the players for the national pride and professional display that meets the hungry fans’ expectations, we also commend the national coaching staff who have proven their ability to guide talents and craft Moroccan football's glory across all ages, cementing a strong international standing of our football talents.
Parallel to this letter, thousands of Moroccans in various cities went out to celebrate the achievement, with car horns, fireworks, and chants of The people want the Africa Cup of Nations directed at the senior team led by coach Walid Regragui, who is staying ready to compete in the Africa Cup of Nations on home soil.
