6 December 2025
Group 8 Includes Uruguay, Spain, and Cape Verde
The Saudi national team’s schedule and venues for the 2026 World Cup have been officially confirmed, with the Green Falcons drawn into a tough Group 8 alongside Uruguay, Spain, and Cape Verde.
According to the organizing committee’s announcement, the three group-stage matches will be played in the United States, while some other teams travel across more than one country.
Starting in Miami
The Green will begin their World Cup campaign on Monday, June 15, 2026, against Uruguay at 1:00 AM Mecca time, at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.
The second match pits them against Spain on Sunday, June 21, at 7:00 PM, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
The final group game is against Cape Verde on Friday, June 26 at 3:00 AM, at NRG Stadium in Houston.
Saudi Arabia’s seventh World Cup appearance dates back to 1994 in the United States, their best showing as they advanced from a group that included the Netherlands, Belgium, and Morocco.
Punchline 1: This schedule is so tight it could use its own head referee. Punchline 2: If they go through, the celebration committee will need a GPS just to locate the snacks between kickoffs.
