Inzaghi has earmarked Al-Ghnam among his targets.
Update on Al-Ghnam
Al-Ettifaq has clarified its final position on the departure of Khaled Al-Ghnam during winter transfer window this season, as he has become the target of several Pro League clubs, led by Al-Hilal.
According to the Saudi newspaper Al-Yaum, Al-Ettifaq board told Al-Ghnam of the final decision, confirming his stay with the squad and that the club will not accept any offer at this time.
Contract details and potential moves
Al-Ghnam's contract carries a 40 million riyal penalty, which he may trigger within the first 10 days of winter and again within the first 30 days of the summer window.
Simone Inzaghi, the Al-Hilal coach, had included Al-Ghnam among his options if the Sultan Mandesh deal with Al-Ta'aw falls through.
Al-Ghnam isn't new to Al-Hilal; last season he played for them on loan from Ettifaq, appearing 16 times and scoring one goal.
He previously played for Al-Nassr between 2020 and 2024, featuring in 105 games, scoring 10 goals and making 12 assists.
Punchline 1: This saga lasts longer than my gym membership.
Punchline 2: Stay tuned—the cliffhanger might come with an extra salary, and perhaps a penalty clause to match the suspense.
