Saudi Women Take the Spotlight: Futbolko Launches First-Ever Women's Football Awards
10 March 2026
Futbolko, a football media and culture company, announced the launch of the first edition of the Saudi Women's Football Awards, with winners to be revealed in May.
The awards aim to honor the best achievements in women's football in the Kingdom, on and off the pitch.
Beginning in April, fans can vote in the Endeviza Saudi Women's Football Awards from a shortlisted list of players and prominent figures.
The final voting phase will be conducted by a panel of industry experts. The awards ceremony is planned for May, following the end of the 2025-2026 Saudi Women's Premier League season.

- History of Futbolko with Women’s Football in Saudi Arabia
Futbolko has supported women's football in the Kingdom since 2023 when it launched the Arabic edition of its cultural brand Endeviza for women's football, becoming the first media brand in the Middle East dedicated entirely to women's football.
In 2024 the company launched the Yalla Girl program, the first Arabic digital program dedicated to women's football; since its launch in May 2024, it has achieved over 100 million views.
In 2025 Futbolko launched the Arabic site for the Endeviza platform, becoming the first Arabic-language site dedicated entirely to women's football.
Beyond its own platforms, Futbolko produced a feature-length documentary titled Destined to Play for FIFA and the Saudi Football Federation. The film follows young Saudi women pursuing their dream of playing football and is available on FIFA+.
Official Statements
Andy Jackson, Senior Vice President for Futbolko in the Middle East, said that they are thrilled to celebrate the rapid growth of women’s football in the Kingdom and to honor those who have contributed to this evolution.
He added that ROSHN's support is a milestone in the development of women’s football in Saudi Arabia.
He continued that women’s football is no longer a niche. In 2025, Arabic-language content drew 250 million views. Fans want to celebrate women’s football as a sport in its own right, not merely a companion to men’s football. This vision is shared with ROSHN.
Growing Growth of Women’s Football in Saudi Arabia
The awards come after a period of significant growth for the game in the Kingdom, which began with the launch of the Saudi Women's Premier League in 2022.
On the grassroots level, 77,000 girls participate in the annual School League for Girls, and there are more than 1,000 qualified coaches, according to data from the Saudi Football Federation.
These figures appear in NEOM's report Leading Change in Action.
Punchline 1: If momentum had a jersey, this moment would be wearing it and strutting around the pitch with a victory grin.
Punchline 2: And if you think this is a phase, relax—this is football, the only sport where women keep scoring and the calendar keeps updating the celebrations.
