Schweinsteiger’s Nudge: Bayern Eye a Bold Comeback for Angelo Stiller

Schweinsteiger's Push for a Stiller Return
Former German star Bastian Schweinsteiger has urged his former club Bayern Munich to seriously consider re-signing Angelo Stiller, the Stuttgart midfielder and one of the Bundesliga's brightest rising talents in recent years.
Schweinsteiger believes Stiller has evolved into a complete player, technically and mentally, and that his return to Bayern could be a major boost for Bayern's defensive midfield role that has looked thin at times.
Stiller, a product of Bayern's academy, logged 50 appearances for the reserve side over two seasons before earning his first-team breakthrough in mid-2020/2021.
His first-team appearances came as a substitute in two Champions League matches against Atletico Madrid and Lokomotiv Moscow, as well as in the German Cup against Duren.
Despite his bright potential, Stiller never secured a Bundesliga spot with Bayern, which made him feel the path to progression was blocked.
In the summer of 2021, he made the tough decision to leave Bayern for Hoffenheim, a move that proved pivotal as his name began to shine in the Bundesliga.
European interest & current chatter
Following standout displays, he moved to Stuttgart, where he matured, became a core pillar, and emerged as one of the most sought-after midfielders on the market.
His continued success earned him a place in the German national team, and drew the attention of Europe's giants, notably Manchester United and Real Madrid.
British reports even linked him to a seven-player shortlist to bolster United's midfield, alongside Eliot Anderson, Adam Wharton, and Carlos Paliba.
German outlets also reported that Bayern Munich is seriously considering a comeback for the player, a move Schweinsteiger has publicly supported, saying at a legends' event: Angelo is an incredibly exciting player and I would be very happy to see him return to Bayern Munich.
50 million euros!
According to Sky Germany, Stuttgart values the player at around 50 million euros (44 million pounds), making him the second-most expensive sale in the club's history.
His contract runs until June 2028, though he has hinted at playing abroad someday, telling Bild: I feel a desire to play outside Germany someday. I liked Florian Wirtz's move to Liverpool, and at the end of my career I want to play in the United States. This goal is 100% certain.
