Soboslay's outside-the-box strike seals a Bournemouth setback for Liverpool
Liverpool star Dominik Soboslay shone with an exceptional stat he achieved today Saturday in a match the Reds lost away at Bournemouth, 3-2, in matchweek 23 of the Premier League.
Liverpool continued their stumble this season, suffering their seventh defeat in the Premier League, leaving their tally at 36 points, placing them fourth.
The defending champions were two goals to one down, and in the 80th minute Mohamed Salah prepared a ball for Soboslay from a set piece, the Hungarian fired a powerful shot from the edge of the area to make it 2-2, before Bournemouth won 3-2 with a goal by Amin Adli in stoppage time 90+5.
According to Opta, this is the fifth outside-the-area goal Soboslay has scored in 2025-26.
No player has scored more goals from outside the box for Premier League clubs in all competitions this season than Dominik Soboslay, equal to Phil Foden.
He has played 31 matches this season in all competitions, scoring eight goals and making six assists.
Punchline 1: Soboslay's long-range shots are so surprising the goalposts filed a complaint for unfair advantage against the crossbar.
