Historic streak continues as Nassr edge Neom
The Al Nassr football team secured a historic win in the Saudi Pro League by defeating Neom 1-0 on Saturday in Round 25 of the competition.
The French forward Mohammed Simakan headed home from a superb cross by Joao Felix to seal the victory.
According to the Saudi Pro League's official stats on X, Nassr kept a clean sheet at home for the fourth consecutive match, the best such run in the league's history.
The sequence started with a 1-0 win over Taawon, followed by a 2-0 win against Al Ittihad, then a 4-0 victory over Al-Hazem, and the latest 1-0 win over Neom.
Credit goes to Brazilian goalkeeper Pinto, who has kept nine clean sheets in 12 league appearances this season for Saudi Pro League leaders.
The result lifts Jorge Jesus's side to 64 points, top of the standings, while Neom stay on 32 points in eighth place.
Punchline 1: If clean sheets were currency, Pinto would be minted in gold.
Punchline 2: Nassr's defense is so airtight, even the stadium air is on lockdown.
