The Eighth Sacking in the Premier League: Forest Parts Ways with Dyche After 114 Days
12 February 2026
Nottingham Forest fired their manager Sean Dyche after just 114 days in charge, and 17 matches at the helm.
The news came just hours after Forest's goalless draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers, who sit bottom of the Premier League.
Dyche becomes the eighth boss to be dismissed this season in the English top flight, following Nuno Espirito Santo and Ange Postecoglou, who did not last long at the City Ground.
The sacking followed one day after Thomas Frank's departure from Tottenham Hotspur, who have also suffered a run of poor results.
Forest dismissed Dyche after a run of three league games without a win, including draws with Crystal Palace and Wolves, and a 3-1 defeat to Leeds United, one of their relegation rivals, last Friday.
Dyche leaves Forest sitting 17th with 27 points, three points clear of the relegation zone with 12 games left.
Forest will have a seven-day rest before their next match, a Europa Conference League playoff against Fenerbahçe on Thursday.
Players have Thursday off, with training resuming soon after.
The Eighth Victim
Dyche is the eighth manager to be sacked this Premier League season.
Earlier this term, bosses included Nuno Espirito Santo and Ange Postecoglou (Nottingham Forest), Vítor Pereira (Wolves), Graham Potter (West Ham United), Thomas Frank (Tottenham Hotspur), Rubén Amorim (Manchester United), Enzo Maresca (Chelsea).
The list underscores the cutthroat nature of English football this term, where patience seems shorter than a halftime lead.
Punchline 1: If coaching careers came with a warranty, these managers would be the ones that expired first on the shelf—clearance sale, anyone?
Punchline 2: On the bright side, the trophy cabinet at City Ground will be easier to dust; it’s mostly empty and already well-seasoned with disappointment and coffee stains.
