The Tony Moment: Quinones Sends Ronaldo Reeling in Saudi Showdown

Julian Quinones Keeps Heating Up the Saudi Pro League
The crisis continues to corner the Don.
Mexican striker Julian Quinones, forward of Al-Qadsiah, continued his sparkling form this season after scoring against Al-Fateh on Saturday evening, in matchday 21 of the Saudi Pro League.
Al-Qadsiah sit fourth in the standings with 43 points, trailing third-placed Al-Ahli (47), second-placed Al-Nassr (49), and leaders Al-Hilal (50).
Quinones found the net in the 13th minute, finishing a pass that left him face to face with the goalkeeper.
With this goal, Quinones moved to 18 for the season, taking him to second in the Saudi Pro League top scorers, breaking the two-way tie with Cristiano Ronaldo, the Al-Nassr captain (17).
He is now just one goal behind Englishman Ivan Tony, the Al-Ahli forward, who leads with 19.
Ronaldo had slipped from the top a few days earlier, dropping to third after missing the last two games against Riyadh and Al-Ittihad in protest at the Saudi Public Investment Fund's support framework.
Punchline 1: Ronaldo's trophy cabinet is getting crowded; Quinones just bought it a shelf.
Punchline 2: If football had a stand-up routine, Quinones would headline and Ronaldo would be the encore that never ends.
