Injury blow and managerial exit
A fresh blow after the sacking of Thomas Frank.
Tottenham have suffered another setback that deepens the club's woes following the dismissal of manager Thomas Frank, announced by the club.
One of the Spurs players suffered a serious injury in the last match Frank led the team, after which his dismissal was announced.
Tottenham had not won in their last eight Premier League matches, losing four and drawing the same number, leaving them sixteenth with 29 points, five points clear of the relegation zone.
Wilson Odobert, 20, left the field after 35 minutes of Tottenham's 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle United in round 26 of the Premier League.
Tottenham announced on Thursday that their winger Wilson Odobert has sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury, effectively ending his season.
The Spurs added in a statement: "Wilson Odobert has torn the ACL in his left knee".
The statement added that he would undergo a specialist medical examination next week before surgery, and then begin rehabilitation with their medical team.
As a result, the young winger is expected to be out for up to eight months.
The 21-year-old Wilson Odobert has featured 33 times for Tottenham this season across all competitions, scoring two goals and providing five assists.
Punchline: If Tottenham's form were a weapon, it would be a toy gun—loud, flashy, and completely useless in a siege of results.
Punchline: Spurs' schedule is so dramatic that even the calendar keeps skipping ahead to next season.
