Group C yields the final quarterfinalists
The teams advancing to the quarterfinals of the Capital Cup were El Gouna and Wadi Degla from Group C, joining Petrojet.
El Gouna beat Modern Sport 2-0 on Saturday evening at Cairo's Al Salam Stadium in the seventh and final round.
Gouna's goals came from Morwan Mohsen in the 23rd minute via a penalty and Bilal El-Sayed in the 80th.
Race for the top spots and a seat in the quarterfinals
Under coach Ahmed Mustafa, nicknamed "Peebo", El Gouna rose to 13 points in second place, two behind leaders Petrojet.
Petrojet and El Gouna advanced to the quarterfinals, while Wadi Degla finished third in the group stage after beating Ismaily 2-1 in the same round.
For Wadi Degla, Tunisian Seif Taqa scored in the 53rd minute and Yousef Owia in the 85th, after Anwar Abdul-Salam had put Ismaily ahead in the 34th.
Wadi Degla's points rose to 10, placing them third.
