The match in brief
Rayyan reached the Qatar Cup final after beating Umm Salal on penalties 17-16 at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium, following a 3-3 draw in regular time.
Cristo opened the scoring for Umm Salal with a successful penalty in the fifth minute.
Salem Al-Hajari extended Umm Salal's lead in the 30th minute, before Tiago Silva pulled Rayyan back with Rayyan's first goal in the 40th.
John Kwasi added a third for Umm Salal in the 65th minute, making it 3-1.
But Rayyan surged again with Pereira's strike in the 84th that deflected off Adediong and found the net.
In the 90+4 minute, Rayyan equalized through Rodrigo Moreno's dramatic goal.
The shootout drama
The teams then went to penalties, a shootout lasting about half an hour with 34 kicks attempted.
Thirty-three penalties were converted, while Abdulaziz Al-Husiyah missed the deciding spot kick, denying Umm Salal a final against Rayyan.
