Key Takeaways from Al-Duae's Remarks
Mohammed Al-Duae, the former Al-Hilal goalkeeper, stressed that the team would not miss a chance to seize top spot in the Saudi Pro League from their traditional foe Al-Nasr, after the defeat suffered in the Al-Ahli clash.
Nasr suffered their first defeat of the current season, losing 2-3 to Al-Ahli at the Al-Inma Stadium on Friday, in round thirteen.
Al-Duae told the show Doorina Gheer: "Even though Al-Ahli were hampered by injuries, they delivered a superb performance against Nasr and arguably deserved to end the first half with a five-goal lead."
Implications for the Title Race
He added: "Earlier, after the Iraq's Zawra match in the AFC Champions League, Jorge Jesus, Nasr's coach, would have been exposed by a team good on counterattacks—and that is exactly what happened."
He concluded: "Nasr is wobbling now; once leading by four points, the lead has flown, and Al-Hilal will not miss the chance. It will be very hard, especially after the gift Al-Ahli handed to him."
The defeat left Nasr on 31 points, two behind second-placed Al-Hilal, meaning the "boss" could seize the top if they beat Damk on Sunday to finish round thirteen.
