When a Fever Breaks: Milan's Pulisic Dilemma Threatens Torino Showdown

Injury updates and lineups
Massimiliano Allegri, Milan’s head coach, revealed doubts about Christian Pulisic’s participation in the Rossoneri’s upcoming Monday night Serie A match against Torino after he spiked a fever.
Milan could climb back to the top of the Italian league standings with an away win at Torino.
Allegri provided an injury update before the Torino game during Sunday’s press conference, confirming that Santiago Gimenez and Youssouf Fofana will miss, while Pulisic’s availability remains uncertain due to illness.
The American star had missed Milan’s 1-0 league win over Lazio last week with a muscle issue, but was expected to be available as a substitute in Thursday’s Coppa Italia clash.
Allegri told reporters: “We hope to have Gimenez back as soon as possible; he is important both numerically and tactically.”
He added: “Pulisic has fever since last night; we’ll see tomorrow if he’ll be available. We won’t take him if he could spread it to everyone. Athikami is recovering, and we hope to have Fofana back before facing Sassuolo. This is a very important week.”
Pulisic and Rafael Leao are Milan’s top scorers in Serie A this season with five goals each. However, the two have started together only once this season, during the 1-0 win over Inter in the Derby della Madonnina.
Sniper punchline: If Milan’s fever is contagious, Allegri just invented a new “immunity” tactic—zero injuries, all the time, except for the flu. Punchline two: When in doubt, blame the virus—because the only thing Milan wants contagious is their form, not their illnesses.
