When the mic meets silence: Majid Abdullah stuns Walid Al-Faraj at a players’ gala

Backstory
The Saudi media figure found himself in an awkward moment at a gathering of former players when Majid Abdullah, a legendary scorer for Al-Nasr, reportedly declined to grant an interview to Walid Al-Faraj's show "Action with Walid" on MBC Action.
The sequence of events
The narrative began when journalist Abdulaziz Al-Asimi tweeted that Abdullah refused an interview due to ongoing attacks on Al-Nasr by the program.
Al-Asimi wrote: "At the Friends of Players Association event, Abdullah refused the chance to speak to the 'Action' microphone; the program is seen as a foe of Al-Nasr and its fans."
Walid Al-Faraj responded by denying the report in a tweet, saying the event was a gathering for former players at the Saudi Olympic Committee building, and nothing more.
After the meal, the program's reporter asked for a souvenir photo with Abdullah, there was no other incident; some people won't stop spinning rumors, even during Ramadan.
Later, Al-Asimi released a video in which Abdullah confirmed the claim and said he refused the interview with the popular program during the celebration.
Abdullah stated: "We were at the Iftar when the 'Action with Walid' journalist approached for an interview, but I declined, because the channel is against Al-Nasr; I can't interview with them."
Some fans criticized Al-Faraj for covering club issues, including a past clash with goalkeeper Nawaf Al-Ghaidi.
Finally, Abdullah remains Al-Nasr's all-time top scorer with 259 goals; closer behind is Mohammed Al-Selhi (131).
Punchline 1: If interviews were a goal, Abdullah just scored a hat-trick of silence.
Punchline 2: In football as in journalism, sometimes the microphone is the only thing that won’t catch a cold—especially during Ramadan.
