Wydad Pulls Off a World Champion Move: A Bold Winter Signing from Bologna
Wydad announce the signing of world youth champion Naeem Biar from Bologna

Overview

The Casablanca club is pushing hard to strengthen its squad.

Wydad Sporting Club, top of the Moroccan Pro League, has intensified its winter market push by officially signing Naeem Biar, from Bologna, on a four-and-a-half-year contract.

Naeem Biar is a midfielder in Morocco's Under-20 team and recently crowned the youth world champion in Chile. He becomes the fifth signing for Wydad this winter window, after bringing in Ayman Al-Wafi (23) from Lugano in Switzerland, Hakim Ziyech on a free transfer, and Nabil Khali from Slovenia, along with former French international Wissam Ben Yedder (35) on a free.

Meanwhile, the club has shuffled its squad, sending Osama Zamrari to Olympique Safi and terminating the contract of veteran Zohair Al-Mutairi, while loaning Brazilian Pedrinho to the UAE league to make room for the arrivals.

With Biar's arrival, Wydad's 2025-26 off-season tally reaches 24 signings, the highest in the Moroccan league this year, lifting the total to 52 since the club's presidency changed hands about one and a half years ago.

More signings likely soon.
