Return to Training Ahead of High-Stakes Fixtures
Ahli Jeddah’s injured midfielder Ziad Al-Jahani has returned to group training ahead of the eagerly awaited clashes against rivals Al Hilal in the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup.
Ahli will travel to Qadsiah on Friday in the 26th round of the Roshen Pro League, then face Al Hilal in the King Cup semifinal on Wednesday at the Al-Enmaa Stadium.
Saudi outlet Al-Riyadiya reported that the 24-year-old returned to full team training yesterday, roughly 96 hours before the Qadsiah game.
He played the Jeddah derby last Friday against Al-Ittihad while carrying the injury, continuing until the 67th minute.
Medical tests in the past hours confirmed there is no muscle tear, offering a clean bill of health to push for selection.
German coach Matthias Jaissle intends to rely on Al-Jahani in the Qadsiah clash, pairing him with Ivory Coast forward Franck Kessié.
Al-Jahani has been a regular this season, appearing in 27 games, scoring one goal and providing another assist.
Punchline 1: If speed were currency, he’d already be paying off the crossbar with interest at full-time.
Punchline 2: He runs so fast that even the grass asks for a time-out to catch its breath.
